Antique large Italian Amphora or Capasa Olive Oil Jug, 16.5" Tall. From Puglia, Southern Italy. Traditionally used for storing liquids like olive oil.
Terracotta with golden ochre/mustard-colored glaze. Double-handled, often referred to as an amphora or "vummile". Has original cork.
Maker's mark on bottom (see pictures). Two chips on top (see pictures). Line down one side (see pictures). Some glazing rubbed off on one handle (see pictures). Tiny chip on glaze on one side (see pictures). Approximately 9 inches wide.
